The Department for Programs, Research, and Partnership (DePReP)

1. ESTABLISHMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT (OUR HISTORY)

The Department for Programs, Research, and Partnership (DePReP) was created following a management re-alignment decision and is composed mainly of four Units: Programmes, Research, Partnership, and Gender.

In January 2022, this re-alignment was done to ensure staff and departments are better positioned to implement the strategic plan of Parliament (2021-2025).

Its core mandate for which it was established borders on the management of external partnerships, coordination of donor-supported programmes, and working with both internal and external donors and partners, to raise the resource profile of the parliament of Sierra Leone.

The department also serves as the reservoir of parliamentary and research expertise with the mandate of supporting the use of evidence in Parliament and delivering on both secondary and primary research products, to respond to the information needs of MPs and staff.

The Gender Unit of the department supports the development of gender-related programmes, also leading the process of mainstreaming gender in all aspects of our parliamentary work.
